Art Journal: Let’s Take Back Our Eggs!!!

Featuring Bird Crazy Stamps and Distress products by Tim Holtz, this is a fun page where I get to be silly again for a moment.  One of the birds is wearing the rabbit ears from the Crazy Things stamps and asking his buddies if they’ll come with him to get back “their” eggs.  These birds are so silly that they don’t realise that the Easter/Eostre Eggs are made from chocolate and they think that they’ll steal them back whilst pretending to be rabbits.

Apologies that you don’t get to see the very first step (I think the birds deleted it), but literally all I did was stick down some of the Tim Holtz tissue wrap, stick texture paste through the Blossom stencil with a spatula and cover the lot with gesso.  The rest of the background is made with Distress paints and inks.

Bird Crazy Picture Book 1: Part 2–Creating the Birds

In this part we’re stamping our Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and die cutting them with the matching Sizzix dies.  If you’ve missed part 1 where we created the backgrounds you can find it here.  In the next part we’ll get them altogether into a book but as they are they would make a super cool set of greeting cards!

Bird Crazy Stamps & Art Journal: On the Fence

WP_20150813_14_17_13_Pro
Everyone has been going Bird Crazy lately all thanks to Tim Holtz!  Having spied the cool stamps coming soon called Crazy Things I figured that I should jump onto the band wagon quickly!  Using a prototype of a secret app I am making to pick my colours (details to follow) I used distress inks and daubers to colour in a full A4 sheet of these fellows.  I then cut them all out using the matching die set by Sizzix. Now I’ve started there is just so much more I want to do with these guys so I am giving them their own tag!   Scroll down for more photos!
