Spectrum Noir Metallic Brush Pens–UK Launch! 23rd March 2018

Brace yourselves – the eagerly anticipated Spectrum Noir Metallic Brush Pens are heading to Hochanda for the UK launch!!!  The pens are dual-nibbed with both fine and brush nibs.  They are waterbased which allows you to work them the same as your other waterbased pens but these dry fairly quickly and become waterproof!  They are highly pigmented and also are very opaque.  All of this means that they work on a number of surfaces, including glass, ceramic and embellishments.  You can also layer them up very easily.  For more inspiration see my samples that I made for the HSN/USA Launch here: Metallic Brush Pen USA Launch

There will also be brand new stamps by Stacey Barras on the show too which have been designed for the UK launch of these pens, which includes peacock feathers and open lettered sentiments that you can colour in…

This card has been stamped and heat embossed using a glittery gold embossing powder onto the luxury mirror card by Crafter’s Companion.  Interesting observation: when you heat the mirror card it produces a subtle oilslick effect on it.  The pearls were plain but have been coloured in with the pens in a multi-coloured peacock style.

This stained glass window stamp is also part of the launch stamps, I have heat embossed it onto heatproof acetate and coloured it with the pens from behind.  The tiny hearts are created very easily by pressing the brush nib down 2 times to make a heart shape.  This card also shows off the vibrancy of the colours on black card too.

The butterflies (also part of the launch stamps) have been stamped onto acetate by colouring the stamp in with the pens directly, then I coloured them from behind.  The distress ink look around the edge of the pink card was created by blending some glycerin and the pen onto my inking mat and sponging around the edges. I also edged the card directly from the pen with a thin line.

This peacock stamp is perfect for these pens. The pens are so opaque that they can cover the outlines giving you a perfect technique for no-line colouring.  The sentiment was stamped by colouring the stamp directly from the pen and stamping onto Neenah desert storm.  The background was created in a similar fashion by stamping directly onto Kraft card,  The ribbon and pearls were also coloured by using the same pens.

How about this idea for a paint-free idea to make with or for children?  This is Donna Ratcliffe’s Fairy Door stamp that was stamped into air dry clay.  When it was dry these pens went straight on in one coat without any issues. I have sprayed in with Spray and Shine and it is the perfect size to stick onto the skirting board to let the little fairies come in.
