Art Journal: Time Travel

This was a different approach for me.  I wanted to use the Craftwork Cards Vintage Finds papers that I had been using to make Father’s Day cards on a journal spread but was stuck for an idea.  I was going through the new Photo Booth images by Tim Holtz and found a guy who looked as though he could be a time traveller which matched the papers perfectly!  Also I am using Tim Holds spritzing tool which I grabbed on a whim in the sale and was amazed to find that Spectrum Aqua pens fit!

Trivia: The quote “Roads?  Where we’re going we don’t need roads!”  did not originate from Back to the Future but was of course from H.G. Wells!

Ingredients

  • Craftwork Cards Paper Pad: (Limited Edition) Vintage Finds
  • Pebeo White Gesso
  • Distress Paints: Salty Ocean and Tarnished Brass
  • Aqua Tints:  left over blue and green colours from my palette
  • Distress Ink: Walnut Stain
  • Sandpaper
  • Tim Holtz Ideaology: Photo Booth, Emporium Ethermera, cogs, sprockets, Word band, Tissue Tape, Metal Corner
  • Tim Holtz Rub Ons: various
  • Tim Holtz Spritzing Tool
  • Spectrum Aqua Pens: Black, Moss
  • Stamps: Craftwork Cards “More Than Words”
  • Sakura White Pen

Distress paint on metal on metal embellishment = nice!  The time traveller’s photo with rub on added, sanded and distressed!  Stapled on the embellishments!
